Read Write Think (making poems)

ReadWriteThink… The tool Read Write tool gives children a leg up in creating a poem where you create a poem.  You just add some words depend of the image the tool provides; like a tree, or a book, or a school bus; then you start to arm your poem…

It’s really interactive and enjoyable item where the children can accomplish a variety of goals from organizing their thoughts to learning about language.

Puzzlemaker

Anyone that likes to play with puzzles? Well, let me tell you that the Puzzlemaker is the one that you can use to create any kind of puzzles like maze, word search, even cryptogram.

I was having so much fun working with this tool and when I finish my puzzles, well you can see by yourself that it is a great tool to use for any school or college activities…

Storyjumber

Storyjumber is a nice tool where you can use it to create a story, any story you like to invent but the funny and good thing about this item is that your story is made as a book…

So, when you finish creating your story and adding images, when you save the tale and when you read it, the book moves from page to page, good item to use for school students where they can create any imaginable stories…

VOKI

Voki is another tool that I’ve been working in my Educational Technology class. This tool is used to create like an avatar (you can create it as you like, hear, eyes, color of skin, etc) but the interesting thing of this instrument is that the avatar can be as teacher like representing yourself. You can represent a topic or also can write a sentence, where your avatar will walk trying to teach the students, and the amazing part is that it can be in different language…

This is a good interactive and effective language tool that I think you can use from first graders to fourth graders (thinking about the ages of the students that will use the tool for their education)…

ZOOBURST

Zooburst is a really interesting tool... 

Let me tell you what it is. Zooburst is a digital tool for storytelling, where you can create stories but in 3D and the images which you can choose different images depend of the story you want to make, the pictures will pop-up and when you finish it will create your story in a book...

I like the tool because if we for example, be a teacher for first or second graders, we can use this element for class. Easy for the students to create their own stories instead of writing in their notebooks; it will help them to be creative, and more to help them with their grammar. So I suggest the teachers to use this tool for easy practice in class.

STORYBIRD

The storybird is a page where you can create your own stories which are a good element for EFL/ESL students to be created...  I like it very much since it gives you tons of images where you can build your story, and I think it is good for any students so it helps them to be creative, it helps you to develop ideas, motivates you to use your imagination...

If I was a teacher, I will use the storybird page for my students (intermediate), so they can develop their grammar, to use their ideas and to make them be more proactive...

Digital Native and Immigrant

We saw a video about the Digital Native and Immigrant that from the time we born (can say in the 1980 the technology era) we are surrounded by technology where you can see now that in class, the students don't use notebooks now is tables, or cell phones (used to have lap tops but now the tables are the boom).

There is some Adapting Textbook Content to follow, like:

- Vocabulary Activities: can be FSW/Surveys, Post it /Mind maps

- The Cloze and Role plays: like Disappearing dialogue, Grammar Poems, Prompts

- The Review Activities as Games, storyboards, Guessing and 

-  Running dictation which is an interaction way to give class…
